Parent Code of Conduct
1. I will set a good example for my child by applauding good plays on my child's team as well as the opponent's team. I will applaud good effort in victory and defeat.
2. I will make sure my child is having fun playing football and that he/she is participating because they want to, not because you want them to.
3. I will show support and show respect for my child, my child's teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and fellow spectators.
4. I will become familiar with the rules of football and will support the officials and coaches both on and off the field in their enforcement of the rules.
5. I will exhibit a positive attitude and not embarrass myself, my child, or other participants by yelling or creating a scene.
6. I will recognize the importance of the volunteers in the organization and will support them by volunteering as I am able.
7. If I have concerns, I will address them calmly at the proper time and place, refraining from confrontations in front of the children. All issues will be brought up with the Thrashers Coordinator only.
8. I will support the goals of youth sports, including skill development, emphasizing fundamentals, teaching teamwork, and encouraging fair play.
9. I will not shout personal instructions from the stands. I will not place my child in the position of hav-ing to choose to listen to me or the coach.
10. I will demand a healthy safe environment for the children; one that is free of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco use.
11. I will encourage my child to play by the rules and will stress fair and sensible play.
12. I will do what I can to make the experience in youth football fun. After all, isn't that why my child wanted to participate in the first place.
